Medicaid Eligibility Calculator 2026
A quick check against this year's limits. It compares your gross monthly household income to the percentage of the federal poverty level your state uses for each group. The state agency makes the final decision.
What counts as income
Use gross (before-tax) income for everyone in your tax household: wages, self-employment profit, Social Security retirement and disability, unemployment, pensions, rental income and alimony from pre-2019 agreements. Do not include SSI, child support received, VA disability, gifts or loans.
Household size
Count yourself, your spouse and anyone you claim as a tax dependent, even if they are not applying. Unmarried partners are separate households unless one claims the other as a dependent. A pregnant woman counts as herself plus the expected child (plus one more in some states).
